The current definition
Compare is the third Law: a developed state or claim is evaluated against another state, standard, expectation, evidence set, consequence, purpose, or Truth-reference.
Compare is not condemnation, social ranking, or correction itself.
A reference makes evaluation possible
Tasting the meal compares an actual result with a purpose: nourishment, flavor, an agreed menu, or a guest’s dietary need. The reference must fit the question. A popular recipe does not override a person’s actual allergy or consent.
A favorable feeling is not the reference
Comfort and confidence are experiences to consider, not automatic measures of correspondence. Comparison can expose an inaccurate reference as well as a flawed result. The model itself remains open to this examination.
Carry the question into your life
What is the reference, why is it appropriate, and what evidence could change the comparison?
This meal is an editorial teaching illustration. The Laws describe related functions that can recur and overlap; they are not a rigid timetable imposed on every event.
Editorial exposition grounded in the model’s September reference, working definitions, and reconciliation record. Illustrations explain the relationships; they are not additional ratified laws. See source versions and scope ↗
